FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT LOUDOUN BRIDGE
Moderate rainfall totals have been observed across the Condamine River catchment during Wednesday. This has caused river level rises and near minor flooding along the Lower Condamine River. Flooding is no longer expected along the Lower Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Condamine River.
The Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge peaked at 5.98 metres around 03:00 pm Wednesday 02 April, near the minor flood level (6.00 m). The river level is currently at 5.93 metres and falling slowly, just below the minor flood level.
The Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT YATTON
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAROOM AND BARALABA FROM OVERNIGHT THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has caused river and creek level rises and areas of flooding across the Connors and Isaac River catchment where moderate flooding is occurring at Yatton. Moderate rainfall has been observed across the Dawson River catchment since Tuesday evening and has resulted in river and creek level rises, where minor flooding may occur at Taroom and Baralaba from overnight Thursday into Friday.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Thursday which may lead to continued and renewed rises.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 1.94 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Dawson River at Taroom may reach the minor flood level (4.50 m) from overnight Thursday into Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No recent observations are available for the Dawson River at Baralaba, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
The Dawson River at Baralaba may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) from overnight Thursday into Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. River levels are elevated along the Connors River at Pink Lagoon, where moderate flooding is occurring.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 13.71 metres and steady, above the moderate flood level (9.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton is expected to remain above the moderate flood level for the next few days. With forecast rainfall further river level rises are possible.

RIVER AND CREEK LEVELS REMAIN ELEVATED THROUGHOUT THE MARY RIVER CATCHMENT WITH CHANCE OF RENEWED RISES OVERNIGHT THURSDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall observed across the Mary River catchment last week led to river and creek level rises and minor to major flooding along the Mary River. River levels have now fallen below minor flood levels throughout the catchment. However, river and creek levels remain elevated along the Mary River and Tinana Creek.
Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm are forecast for the remainder of Thursday, which may cause renewed creek and river level rises. At this stage, river levels are expected to remain below minor flood levels, though there is uncertainty in the amount and timing of forecast rainfall.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Mary River to Gympie:
Flooding has eased below minor flood levels along the Mary River to Gympie but river and creek levels remain elevated throughout the catchment.
Six Mile Creek:
Creek levels are now generally easing along Six Mile Creek.
Mary River downstream of Gympie:
Flooding has eased below minor flood levels along the Mary River downstream of Gympie but river and creek levels remain elevated throughout the catchment.
The Mary River at Miva is currently at 4.69 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Miva is expected to remain below the minor flood level (7.50 m) during Thursday morning to evening. Renewed rises are possible overnight Thursday into Friday with forecast rainfall.

The Mary River at Tiaro is currently at 4.99 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Tiaro is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Thursday morning to evening. Renewed rises are possible overnight Thursday into Friday with forecast rainfall.

Tinana Creek:
Creek levels are now generally easing along Tinana Creek but remain elevated.

River level remain elevated along the Noosa River at Tewantin where renewed minor flooding is possible Thursday evening on the high tide.
Further showers are forecast for the remainder of Thursday, however these are not expected to significantly impact river levels. A Flood Watch is current for parts of Southern Inland Queensland, Capricornia and South East Coastal Catchments.

The US declared a La Niña event this summer, but this event has not met the BoM definition, and will likely end in the coming weeks. A La Niña typically increases rainfall over northern and eastern Australia, while reducing rainfall over southern coastal Australia and western Tas. The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is in a neutral phase and does not play a part in Australia's climate during this time of year. The Southern Annular Mode (SAM) is in a neutral phase. Forecasts show a tendency towards the positive phase in autumn, with the long-wave pattern indicating that cold fronts are a bit less likely for Australia's longitudes over the next few months. During autumn, a positive SAM increases rainfall over most of eastern Australia, and decreases rainfall for SA, Vic and western Tas. Rainfall outlooks are showing above average rainfall across much of northern Australia in April due to lingering monsoon activity. Above average rainfall is expected for the NSW coast through autumn, with wetter conditions also developing over western WA from late autumn. SA, Vic and Tas are expected to be average to slightly below average, with average conditions elsewhere.
