Moderate Flood Warning For The Noosa River And Minor Flood Warning For The Maroochy River And Flood Warning For The Mooloolah River And Coochin Creek

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TEWANTIN AND MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT PICNIC POINT SATURDAY EVENING AND SUNDAY MORNING ON THE HIGH TIDES
Further moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded in the last 12 hours around the Sunshine Coast area, including the Noosa, Maroochy, Mooloolah River catchments and Coochin Creek catchment, which has caused further river and creek level rises across the catchments.
Showers and thunderstorms with possible heavy rainfall are forecast for the remainder of Saturday, which may keep river and creek levels elevated with higher levels possible.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Maroochy River:
Minor flooding may occur along the lower Maroochy River. Minor to moderate flooding in the upper catchment generally peaked and is easing.
The Maroochy River at Picnic Point is currently at 0.76 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (1.25 m).
The Maroochy River at Picnic Point may reach the minor flood level (1.25 m) on Saturday evening and Sunday morning on the high tides.

Noosa River:
Minor to moderate flooding may occur along the Noosa River around Tewantin on the high tides for the next few days.
The Noosa River at Tewantin is currently at 1.02 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (1.00 m).
The Noosa River at Tewantin is expected to fall below the minor flood level (1.00 m) late Saturday afternoon with the falling tide. The river level may rise to the moderate flood level (1.30 m) on the Saturday evening and Sunday morning on the high tides.

Mooloolah River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mooloolah River and Mountain Creek.
Coochin Creek:
Minor flooding is continuing along the Coochin Creek.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MARYBOROUGH, EXPECTED TO PEAK OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT GYMPIE LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Mary River catchment which has led to river and creek level rises and flooding. Minor flooding is occurring at Maryborough, and moderate flooding is occurring at Gympie, Miva and Tiaro. Major flooding is likely late Saturday afternoon at Tiaro.
Further showers and the chance of storms are forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Saturday and over the next few days, which may cause further river and creek level rises.
This situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Mary River to Gympie:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Mary River to Gympie.
No observations are available, however the Mary River at Dagun Pocket is expected to be above the minor flood level (7.00 m).
The Mary River at Dagun Pocket is likely to remain above the minor flood level overnight Saturday into Sunday.

The Mary River at Gympie is currently at 12.01 metres and rising, just above the moderate flood level (12.00 m).
The Mary River at Gympie may reach around 12.20 metres Saturday evening, with moderate flooding.

Six Mile Creek:
Elevated creek levels and moderate to major flooding are occurring along Six Mile Creek.
Mary River downstream of Gympie:
Major flooding is likely along the Mary River downstream of Gympie.
The Mary River at Miva is currently at 12.58 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (9.50 m).
The Mary River at Miva is likely to reach around 12.70 metres Saturday evening, with moderate flooding.

The Mary River at Tiaro is currently at 11.94 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (8.00 m).
The Mary River at Tiaro is likely to exceed the major flood level (12.00 m) late Saturday afternoon. The river level may reach around 12.20 metres Saturday evening, with major flooding.

The Mary River at Maryborough (Portside gauge) is currently around 5.55 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (5.00 m).
The Mary River at Maryborough may reach around 5.90 metres overnight Saturday into Sunday, with minor flooding.

Tinana Creek:
Elevated creek levels and minor to major flooding are occurring along Tinana Creek.

Moderate to heavy rainfall over the Bremer River and Warrill Creek during Friday afternoon and evening has caused stream rises with major flooding possible in the Warrill Creek and moderate flooding occurring in the Bremer River.
Further isolated heavy rainfall is possible into Saturday evening.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Warrill Creek:
Major flooding may occur along the Warrill Creek.
The Warrill Creek at Harrisville is currently at 4.78 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Warrill Creek at Harrisville may peak near the major flood level (5.00 m) late Saturday afternoon.

The Warrill Creek at Amberley is currently at 4.92 metres and rising, (above the minor flood level 4.0 metres) .
The Warrill Creek at Amberley may reach around 5.30 metres Saturday evening, with minor flooding.

Bremer River:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Bremer River.
The Bremer River at Rosewood is currently at 5.02 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Bremer River at Rosewood is approaching a moderate peak around 5.10 m (just above the moderate flood level 5.0 metres).

The Bremer River at Five Mile Bridge is currently at 5.02 metres and rising, with minor flooding.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BEAUDESERT OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed in the Logan and Albert River catchment overnight Friday and into Saturday. This has caused river level rises with minor flooding possible at Beaudesert from overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further rises are possible across the Logan River catchment with forecast rainfall.
Further heavy rainfall is possible for the remainder of Saturday which may lead to further river level rises.

Logan River to Yarrahappini:
Minor flooding may occur along the Logan River to Yarrahappini at Beaudesert. Major flooding is occurring along the Teviot Brook at Boonah.
The Logan River at Beaudesert is currently at 2.17 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Logan River at Beaudesert may reach the minor flood level (5.50 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG COOMERA AND NERANG RIVERS, AND MUDGEERABA, WORONGARY, TALLEBUDGERA AND CURRUMBIN CREEKS
Moderate to locally heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Nerang and Coomera catchments since Friday afternoon. This has caused creek and river level rises, with minor flooding occurring at multiple locations. However, river levels along the Nerang River at Evandale and Clearview are expected to remain below minor flood levels.
Further showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast for the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday, which may cause further small additional creek and river level rises. The situation is being monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Pimpama and Coomera Rivers:
Elevated river levels and localised flooding are occurring along the Pimpama and Coomera rivers. Minor flooding is occurring at Clagiraba Road.
Nerang River:
Elevated river levels and localised flooding are occurring along the Nerang River. Minor flooding is occurring at Little Nerang Dam.
The Nerang River at Clearview is currently at 2.65 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Nerang River at Clearview is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) for the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday.

The Nerang River at Evandale is currently at 0.41 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Nerang River at Evandale is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.80 m) for the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday.

Mudgeeraba Creek:
Elevated creek levels and localised flooding are occurring along Mudgeeraba Creek. Minor flooding is occurring at Mudgeeraba and Worongary Creek.
Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creeks:
Elevated creek levels and localised flooding are occurring along Tallebudgera and Currumbin creeks. Minor flooding is occurring at Currumbin Creek and Coplicks Bridge.

Moderate to heavy rainfall over the upper Brisbane catchment, particularly in the Upper Stanley River, is leading to river rises, and minor flooding along the Stanley River during Saturday.
Further heavy rainfall is possible for the remainder of Saturday which may lead to further river level rises.

Stanley River to Somerset Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Stanley River to Somerset Dam. Near minor flooding is occurring at Peachester.
The Stanley River at Woodford is currently at 5.70 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Stanley River at Woodford is likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday. Further river level rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

ISOLATED MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE IN INLAND AREAS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS
MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN AND GULF CATCHMENTS

Showers, rain, and thunderstorms are forecast across much of northern, central and southeast Queensland today as deep moisture is drawn into an inland trough. Isolated heavy rainfall is possible in southeastern, central, and northern Queensland in heavy showers or severe thunderstorms today. Very isolated intense rainfall is possible in the southeast.
Rainfall will ease in southern Queensland overnight on Saturday as the trough moves off the southeast coast. Moderate rainfall is possible over northern and central Queensland for the next few days as a weak trough lingers but heavy rainfall is unlikely.
Catchments within the Flood Watch area are wet. Minor to major flood warnings are current for numerous catchments across Queensland adjacent to the Flood Watch area.
Localised river level rises, and flash flooding are likely within the areas of heaviest rainfall. Localised flooding, isolation of communities and disruption to transport routes are possible within the Flood Watch area over the next few days.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for heavy rainfall is current for parts of Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast Forecast Districts.
