Moderate Flood Warning For The Namoi River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT WEE WAA AND POSSIBLE AT BUGILBONE
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GUNNEDAH, BOGGABRI, NARRABRI, AND GOANGRA
Along the Namoi River at Gunnedah, inflows from the Mooki River combined with inflows from the Peel River may cause minor flooding Monday evening.
Further downstream along the Namoi River, Boggabri peaked at the minor flood level Sunday morning. Renewed rises are occurring at Narrabri where minor flooding is possible Monday evening. Moderate flooding is occurring at Wee Wee. Minor flooding is expected at Bugilbone from Monday afternoon and minor flooding is possible at Goangra later this week.
In the next few days, multiple flood peaks are expected to move along the Namoi River, with prolonged flooding possible at some locations.

Namoi River:
Moderate flooding is occurring at Wee Waa and possible at Bugilbone. Minor flooding is possible at Gunnedah, Boggabri, Narrabri and Goangra.
The Namoi River at Gunnedah is currently at 5.45 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (7.30 m).
The Namoi River at Gunnedah may reach the minor flood level (7.30 m) Monday evening. Further rises are possible.

The Namoi River at Boggabri peaked at 7.04 metres around 11:30 am Sunday with minor flooding and is currently at 6.74 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
Subject to the arrival of the floodwaters from Gunnedah, renewed river level rises to the minor flood level (7.00 m) are possible from midweek.

The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri is currently at 4.14 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (4.90 m).
The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri may reach the minor flood level (4.90 m) Monday evening.

The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) is currently at 6.36 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (5.30 m).
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) may remain around the moderate flood level (6.40 m) until Tuesday.

The Namoi River at Bugilbone is currently at 4.60 metres and rising.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is likely to reach the minor flood level (4.90 m) Monday afternoon. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (5.50 m) during Wednesday.

The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 2.11 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (5.50 m).
The Namoi River at Goangra may reach the minor flood level (5.50 m) later this week. Further rises are possible.

Minor Flood Warning For The Clarence River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GRAFTON
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Clarence River catchment from Friday which is causing river and creek level rises.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Clarence River at Grafton. Minor flooding is expected to continue into Monday evening.
Further rainfall is forecast in the Clarence River catchment from mid-week which may cause renewed river rises and flooding in the second half of the week.

Minor flooding is occurring along the Clarence River.

The Clarence River at Grafton (Prince St) peaked at 2.91 metres, with minor flooding, around 01:00 am Monday 31 March and is currently at 2.31 metres and falling above the minor flood level (2.10 m).
The Clarence River at Grafton (Prince St) is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.10 m) Monday evening. Renewed river level rises are possible in the second half of this week..

Coastal Hazard Warning
for DAMAGING SURF

for parts of Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast and Mid North Coast Forecast Districts.

Damaging Surf to continue intensifying along parts of the New South Wales coast during Monday.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system off the southeast NSW coast will deepen this morning as it moves offshore into the southern Tasman Sea. Strong to gale-force southeast to southerly winds around the low will generate large and powerful waves for parts of the NSW coast.
DAMAGING SURF for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast
VERY HEAVY SURF which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is possible along the New South Wales coast south of Seal Rocks from this afternoon and evening, becoming more likely during Monday. These conditions may further persist into Tuesday.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas, particularly south-facing coastlines.
A Hazardous Surf Warning is also current for parts of the New South Wales Coast.

Weather Situation
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas.

NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that:
People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.

Moderate to heavy rainfall during Friday and Saturday has caused river level rises across the Gloucester and Manning River catchments. Minor flooding is occurring at Wingham and Croki Wharf. Renewed minor flooding is possible at Croki Wharf during Monday morning on the high tide.

Minor flooding is occurring along the Manning River.
The Manning River at Wingham is currently at 4.95 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (4.90 m).
The Manning River at Wingham is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.90 m) early Monday morning.

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BELLBROOK AND KEMPSEY
The Macleay River at Bellbrook is peaking below the minor flood level and no further flooding is expected downstream at Kempsey.
Further rain is forecast across parts of the Macleay River catchments from the middle of the week, which may cause renewed river level rises and flooding along the Macleay River. The situation is being closely monitored and the flood warning will be updated as required.

The river level along the Upper Hunter River at Denman peaked slightly above the minor flood level (6.50 m) around midday Sunday and fell below the minor flood level Sunday afternoon. The river level at Denman is expected to remain below the minor flood level.
Further rain is forecast across parts of the Hunter River catchments from the middle of the week, which may cause renewed river level rises and flooding along the Hunter River and its tributaries. The situation is being closely monitored and the flood warning will be updated as required.

Upper Hunter:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Upper Hunter at Denman.
The Hunter River at Denman peaked near 6.80 metres around 12:45 pm Sunday with minor flooding and is currently at 6.31 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (6.50 m).
The Hunter River at Denman is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Final Flood Warning For The Hastings River

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT KINDEE BRIDGE AND SETTLEMENT POINT
The river level along the Hastings River at Kindee Bridge peaked below the minor flood level (4.70 m) around midnight Saturday.
The Hastings River at Wauchope is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.5 m).
Minor flooding is no longer expected at Settlement Point with high tides.
Further rain is forecast across the Hastings River catchment from the middle of the week, which may cause renewed river level rises and flooding. The situation is being closely monitored and flood warnings will be issued as required.

Hastings River:
Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Hastings River.

The Hastings River at Kindee Bridge peaked near 4.00 metres around 11:30 pm Saturday, and is currently at 2.66 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (4.70 m).
The Hastings River at Kindee Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED AT THORA
Moderate rainfall recorded across the Bellinger catchment over the past few days caused river level rises along the Bellinger River. The Bellinger river at Thora peaked below the minor flood level overnight Saturday into Sunday, river levels are now easing and no further flooding is expected.
Further rainfall is forecast in the Bellinger and Kalang River catchments from the middle of the week which may cause renewed river rises and flooding.
The situation will be monitored, and flood watches and flood warnings will be issued as required.

Bellinger River:
No further flooding is expected in the Bellinger River.
The Bellinger River at Thora peaked at 2.82 metres around 01:15 am Sunday and is currently at 2.71 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (3.00 m).
No further flooding is expected at Thora.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING IN PARTS OF THE NORTHERN RIVERS, MID NORTH COAST AND NORTH WEST SLOPES

Settled conditions are forecast to develop across most of New South Wales early this week, as a ridge of high pressure extends across from the west. Another trough may extend into the northeast of New South Wales from the middle of the week, bringing unsettled conditions to the area.
Minor to Moderate flooding is occurring in parts of the Northern River, Mid North Coast and North West Slopes.
Flood warnings are current for the following catchments: Tweed, Richmond, Clarence, Orara, Bellinger, Macleay, Hastings, Manning, Upper Hunter, Cooks, Gwydir, Namoi, Paroo, Warrego and Culgoa.
Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchments in the next few days: Brunswick, Upper Macintyre and Castlereagh.
Further rainfall is forecast in the northeast of New South Wales from the middle of the week which may cause renewed river rises and flooding. The situation will be monitored, and flood watches and flood warnings will be issued as required.
