MINOR FLOODING ALONG BREMER RIVER AT WALLOON NEARING A PEAK THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Moderate rainfall was observed during Wednesday across the Bremer River and Warrill Creek catchments. River and creek rises are now generally easing, with a minor flood peak now approaching Amberley along Warrill Creek. Along the Bremer River, minor flooding is also generally easing with the flood peak now approaching Walloon.
A chance of showers is forecast for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday. However rainfall totals are not expected to be significant and no further significant river level rises are expected.

Warrill Creek:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Warrill Creek.
The Warrill Creek at Harrisville is currently at 3.36 metres and falling, above the minor flood level.
The Warrill Creek at Harrisville may fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) Thursday evening.

The Warrill Creek at Amberley is currently at 5.28 metres and nearing a peak, above the minor flood level.
The Warrill Creek at Amberley is likely to peak near 5.30 metres Thursday afternoon, with minor flooding. The river level is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Thursday into Friday.

Moderate rainfall totals have been observed across the Condamine River catchment during Wednesday. This has caused river level rises and near minor flooding along the Lower Condamine River. Flooding is no longer expected along the Lower Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Condamine River.
The Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge peaked at 5.98 metres around 03:00 pm Wednesday 02 April, near the minor flood level (6.00 m). The river level is currently at 5.93 metres and falling slowly, just below the minor flood level.
The Condamine River at Loudoun Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Weir River catchment over the last few days. This rainfall has resulted in river level rises along the Weir River and its tributaries. Minor flooding is possible along the Weir River at Talwood during Friday morning.
No significant rainfall is forecast in the Weir River catchment over the next few days.

Weir River to Giddi Giddi South:
River level rises are occurring upstream of Giddi Giddi South. Minor flooding is occurring at Medpark Bridge and Kilbronae.
Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South:
Minor flooding may occur along the Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South.
No observations are currently available for the Weir River at Talwood, however based on the nearby auto gauge the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Weir River at Talwood may reach near the minor flood level (3.00 m) Friday morning. Further rises are possible as upstream flow arrives.

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT THALLON BRIDGE AND FLINTON THURSDAY EVENING
Moderate to locally heavy rainfall has been observed across the Moonie River catchment since Tuesday evening. This has resulted in river and creek level rises across the lower parts of the catchment, where minor flooding is occurring at Nindigully.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Moonie River to Flinton:
Minor flooding may occur along the Moonie River to Flinton.
No recent observations are available along the Moonie River at Flinton. Based on the upstream gauges, the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (3.00 m) and rising.
The Moonie River at Flinton may reach the minor flood level (3.00 m) Thursday evening.

Moonie River downstream of Flinton:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Moonie River downstream of Flinton.

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT YATTON
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAROOM AND BARALABA FROM OVERNIGHT THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has caused river and creek level rises and areas of flooding across the Connors and Isaac River catchment where moderate flooding is occurring at Yatton. Moderate rainfall has been observed across the Dawson River catchment since Tuesday evening and has resulted in river and creek level rises, where minor flooding may occur at Taroom and Baralaba from overnight Thursday into Friday.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Thursday which may lead to continued and renewed rises.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.

Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 1.94 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Dawson River at Taroom may reach the minor flood level (4.50 m) from overnight Thursday into Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No recent observations are available for the Dawson River at Baralaba, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
The Dawson River at Baralaba may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) from overnight Thursday into Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. River levels are elevated along the Connors River at Pink Lagoon, where moderate flooding is occurring.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 13.71 metres and steady, above the moderate flood level (9.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton is expected to remain above the moderate flood level for the next few days. With forecast rainfall further river level rises are possible.

Moderate rainfall totals over the last few days resulted in river level rises in the upper parts of the Logan River catchment. River levels are now approaching a peak below the minor flood level at Beaudesert during Thursday morning. Moderate flooding is easing along Teviot Brook at Boonah after a major flood peak early Thursday morning.
A chance of showers is forecast for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday. However rainfall totals are not expected to be significant and no further significant river level rises are expected.

Logan River to Yarrahappini:
River levels are generally easing but remain elevated along the Logan River to Yarrahappini. Moderate flooding is easing along Teviot Brook at Boonah. Minor flooding is easing at Round Mountain and Rathdowney.
The Logan River at Beaudesert is currently at 4.57 metres and approaching a peak, below the minor flood level (5.50 m).
The Logan River at Beaudesert is expected to peak near 4.60 metres late Thursday morning, below the minor flood level. The river level will remain below the minor flood level (5.50 m) during the remainder of Thursday.

The US declared a La Niña event this summer, but this event has not met the BoM definition, and will likely end in the coming weeks. A La Niña typically increases rainfall over northern and eastern Australia, while reducing rainfall over southern coastal Australia and western Tas. The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is in a neutral phase and does not play a part in Australia's climate during this time of year. The Southern Annular Mode (SAM) is in a neutral phase. Forecasts show a tendency towards the positive phase in autumn, with the long-wave pattern indicating that cold fronts are a bit less likely for Australia's longitudes over the next few months. During autumn, a positive SAM increases rainfall over most of eastern Australia, and decreases rainfall for SA, Vic and western Tas. Rainfall outlooks are showing above average rainfall across much of northern Australia in April due to lingering monsoon activity. Above average rainfall is expected for the NSW coast through autumn, with wetter conditions also developing over western WA from late autumn.
