MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT SUSSEX INLET FROM WEDNESDAY EARLY MORNING WITH THE HIGH TIDE
Minor flooding is occurring in St Georges Basin at Sussex Inlet from Wednesday early morning, with the high tide.

St Georges Basin:
Minor flooding is occurring along the St Georges Basin.

The Sussex Inlet is currently at 1.06 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (0.90 m).
The Sussex Inlet is likely to remain above the minor flood level (0.90 m) early Wednesday morning, with the high tide.

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

Coastal Hazard Warning
for DAMAGING SURF

for parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast Forecast Districts.

Damaging Surf continuing along parts of the New South Wales coast.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea is generating large and powerful waves for parts of the NSW coast.
DAMAGING SURF for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast
VERY HEAVY SURF which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is possible along the New South Wales coast south of Smoky Cape. These conditions will persist during this afternoon before slowly contracting to coastlines between Jervis Bay and Smoky Cape later this evening or early Wednesday morning.
Damaging surf conditions are expected to ease for the remaining coasts during Wednesday morning.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas, particularly south-facing coastlines.
A Hazardous Surf Warning is also current for parts of the New South Wales Coast.

Locations which may be affected include Stockton Beach, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Batemans Bay, Moruya Heads and Eden.
A significant wave height of 6.3m was observed at Eden wave buoy at 10am on Tuesday the 1st of April.
A significant wave height of 5.1m was observed at Batemans Bay wave buoy at 1pm on Tuesday the 1st of April.


The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.

The next Coastal Hazard Warning will be issued by 5:00 am AEDT Wednesday.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Hazardous Surf Warning for New South Wales

Weather Situation
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas.
Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Byron Coast, Coffs Coast, Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast

Warnings for Wednesday 02 April

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Byron Coast, Coffs Coast, Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast

NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that:
People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.
