Final Flood Warning for the Avoca River
Issued at 9:03 am EDT on Sunday 16 December 2018
Flood Warning Number: 5
No further flooding is expected in the Avoca River.
In the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday rainfall totals of less than 10 mm have been
recorded in the Avoca River catchment.
Rainfall totals of up to 5mm are forecast in the Avoca catchment during Sunday
with a slight chance of isolated higher totals up to 10 mm due to thunderstorm
Avoca River to Charlton Town:
No further flooding is expected in the Avoca River to Charlton Town.
The Avoca River at Charlton Township is currently at 3.45 metres and falling.
Avoca River downstream of Charlton Town:
No further flooding is expected in the Avoca River downstream of Charlton Town.
The Avoca River at Quambatook is currently at 0.04 metres and steady. The Avoca
River at Quambatook is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m)

SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may
contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases
the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
